Big Girl

Almost an entire month has passed since my last post. I've also been without a computer for a couple weeks. So, I'll let that be my excuse of choice. Back to the task at hand...Janna updates.
I was just writing to a friend that once the 12 month mark passed by it seemed as though Janna turned into an active, independent little person overnight. It still amazes me to see how much she is still discovering and changing from day to day. Most recently, Janna really tries to mimic or imitate what we're doing. Here's a little list of some funny things she's picked up:
*She's seen me dusting, or one of us wiping down the counter so if she gets ahold of a napkin or something similar she'll carry it around the house and wipe things. Everything under 35 inches is very clean and dust-free!
*Janna pretty much despises when we wipe her nose, but I've caught her on more than one occasion trying to blow her nose in a tissue. Amazing how different she feels about it if she can do it herself.
*Just recently, during bath time, when I'm washing her hair she'll reach up and try to help me. So cute!
*Janna is all about trying to help throw things away. The only problem is that she equates being done with something as needing to throw it away. One day I couldn't find a cup of hers and where do you think it was? Yep, empty and in the trash.
*Of course, there are also cute things like, brushing her own hair and trying to put in her own hair pieces.
Aside from imitation, there are a handful of other cute and fun things Janna has been up to. She really gives great hugs (of course when she feels it's appropriate for her timing). One of the best parts about them is she'll pat your back while she's hugging you. So sweet. She's also officially a "girly" girl. We've spent a little time having "tea," and pretending to eat and drink, which she picked up quickly. Janna also loves to grab a bag and put it on her arm (like Mommy does with her purse) and walk around the house with it on her arm. Probably our favorite thing is that she's begun to say "shoes" (sounds more like shoose). Janna will get a pair of shoes out of her closet and bring them to one of us to put on her. She sometimes changes pairs several times a day, but it's something she enjoys. She also likes to wear other people's shoes, especially Daddy's! She's turning into such a big girl (sigh).
We've finally started having a handful of nice days here in Quincy, which has given us the opportunity to get outside with Janna. It's been really fun to watch her explore in the backyard or down the street at the park. She's LOVES the outdoors, which we're exctied about since we do too, and we want her to enjoy playing outside.
Of course, I have some pictures to share, which I'm sure is what many of you were really waiting for! :)

The cup in the toliet is the best, I think. And seeing those pictures, I am coming to visit, like yesterday. Well, classes will be over in May, so maybe late May/early June!
