Janna has recently discovered cabinetry and the wonders that await her inside. Fortunately, for us, it has taken her 11 months to uncover the mystery. We had not yet found the appropriate devices for withholding these wonders, and have had to resort to mere distraction or succumb to her curiosity. Today, "curiosity killed the cat," or at least upset it a bit. Her particularly favorite cabinet houses pots and pans on the lower shelf, and assorted baking products and spices on the top shelf. I have several little spice bottles that have a spinning wheel on top to allow different amounts of spice to exit. The wheels spin quite easily. Janna had come across a little spice entitled "Ginger." "Ginger" exited said bottle dusting Janna's clothes and the floor. From here I imagine some kind of inner monologue. "Hmmm, what's this yellow stuff? I suppose I should touch it and see what it is. Perhaps, I can gain a better understanding of this substance if I put my hands in my mouth....ummm, I don't like the way that tastes...I'm getting upset and sometimes when I get upset I rub my eyes...okay now this stuff is stinging my eyes...I'm REALLY upset! Time to alert mom...prepare red face and crying and even screaming!"
Poor little girl. After a wipe down with a washcloth, a cup of milk, and a little time with her gloworm, she was as good as new.
