Janna's New Year's Rockin' Eve

It's hard to believe, but Janna has turned one and we've celebrated her first birthday. As Eddy and I have reflected on the past year we've found it hard to believe it went by so fast. When I started to think about a party for Janna, I emailed several friends who've celebrated first birthdays in the near past for a bit of advice. One friend suggested that the first birthday party is more for the parents, a sort of celebration announcing, "We made it through the first year!" I believe she was right. I think the first year is a rather large accomplishment for parents and child. Reflections aside, we had a nice little bash with several friends and family. We entitled the event "Janna's New Year's Rockin' Eve" (thanks to my brother's creativity). The night started off with subs and sides, followed by some Kindermusik fun with my mom (and the kids of course). Janna entertained us next as she enjoyed her first cupcake, and we finished up the night by opening gifts. It was quite an enjoyable time. I've put together a little slideshow of the night(plus a few of Janna opening birthday gifts when Eddy's parents were here for Christmas). Enjoy.

Looks like she had fun and that she had several helpers when it came to present time. You are right congrats parents on making it the first year. We are excited to celebrate with family on Saturday. She is getting so big and absolutely adorable.
