17 Weeks

I have found that there is truth in the statement, "Every pregnancy is different." I suppose I just assumed they'd be the same because I've only been pregnant once and don't know anything different. While there are similarities, I've been surprised by so many differences.
For example, before I knew I was pregnant I was having some "pregnancy symptoms," but it never occurred to me that I might be pregnant because the symptoms were not the same as with Janna.
Nausea was present both times, but quicker and stronger this time. I had a great deal of headaches the first trimester this go around, and the exhaustion this time has been a bit overwhelming (especially considering I'm in better physical shape and health than I was when I got pregnant with Janna!). I've also been rather light-headed this go around, which is more annoying than anything.
Anyway, aside from exhaustion and lack of energy, I'm feeling very well this trimester. The clothing transition is in full swing. Shorts aren't fitting so well, so I'm utilizing the rubber band trick, the bella band, and a few maternity shorts. While the heat in the midwest is terrible right now, it won't last long enough to justify buying more maternity shorts. I'm wearing looser tops for sure, but not ready to bust out the maternity shirts just yet. Until the belly is a bit more pronounced you just look like you're swimming in those things!
I took a picture of myself yesterday (don't worry it's below in this post) and compared it to one of about the same time with Janna (yep, it's down there too). I carried Janna rather low, but noticed that this baby is lower. Now I'm sure some of you will have something to say about the relation that has to possible gender, but we'll see. :)
Also, the pictures are a week apart, but my belly is about the same size in both. It's true that you show quicker the second time around, at least in my case.
At this point I'm mostly thinking about the 20 week mark and having an ultrasound to find out the baby's gender. Eddy is still convinced it's a girl. I've leaned towards boy (and probably just because we already have a girl), but don't really have a feeling either way (who can really tell?). Ultimately, we don't care what we're having, and are just excited and ready to know!
Bonus of second pregnancy: feeling the baby move earlier and knowing that it's the baby! Definitely one of the coolest things about being pregnant.

Baby #2: 16 weeks 6 days
