We’d been talking with Janna for a while about the upcoming event of Halloween. We told her that you get to dress up in a costume and asked her what costume she’d like. She chose Cinderella, so we made the purchase (I had considered making her costume, but since I’m pregnant and was still in the process of making curtains for her room I decided not to take on any new projects.).
A few days before we continued to remind her that she would get to dress up as Cinderella and she could take her pumpkin trick-or-treating to get candy. We also enjoyed the process of carving a real pumpkin with her for the first time.
On Halloween day we reminded her what she’d get to do that evening and she was beyond thrilled. As the time for trick-or-treating got closer, we began to prepare. I asked her if she’d like “Cinderella hair” and she exclaimed, “Yes!” So, I got out the bows, bobby pins, hair spray, and curling iron. She was semi-cooperative, but the end product was certainly cute. After Eddy arrived home and we ate dinner, Janna put on her Cinderella dress. We took a few pictures and we were off. You might have thought Janna had already eaten a pumpkin full of candy by her over-the-top excitement. She was running, chattering, and smiling the entire evening. Super social. We think she thoroughly enjoyed herself.
