Summer Swimming

I know it's been a bit since my last post on Disneyland. I have some great stories piling up. I have this problem where I take a series of pictures and videos on my phone to share with friends and family. My problem is transferring them to my computer and preparing them for posting. I thought it was challenging to find time to squeeze in hobbies when we only had Janna! My mom told me when Luke arrived I'd realize how much time I had with just one...she was right!!!
Anyhow, I'll just go back in time a bit and start with my first story.

St. Charles offers a great number of parks and recreation areas, which include a couple of great aquatic facilities. Blanchette Park is a 1/2 mile from our house and boasts ball fields, a playground, three swimming pools, a flower garden, and other features (like the giant sledding hill we are anxious to try this winter!). A few miles further is Waplehorst Park (yeah, I'm not quite sure how to pronounce that either), which has another aquatic facility complete with pools, slides, and child's water play area. These parks host a number of activities including swimming lessons!
In mid-July we were able to get Janna in for swimming lessons. Thankfully, we received the last spot for her age group and for two weeks Janna learned basic swimming skills. She was thrilled to go to the pool every morning for two weeks, followed by play time in their fantastic children's area.
Enjoy a few photo ops and videos from lessons and playtime.

Janna is in the middle.

Everybody kick!

Playing with her teacher after the completion of all her lessons.
Great job Janna!
The "Big Dumper!" (Janna's name)
