Oktoberfest

I guess you might notice by now that I'm on a writing spree to share the exciting events of this past month. :) Things sure are busy around here with two VERY mobile and active children! Anyhow, I try to make the most of the few precious hours I have to myself each week while Janna is at preschool and Luke is napping (thankfully they coincide). Today, I am able to get a couple posts written.

On thing we really love about St. Charles so far is all the festivals and family activities they host. The last weekend of September they had Oktoberfest. Now, I suppose many Oktoberfests aren't the typical family-friendly setting (with the constant flow of alcohol), but St. Charles' Oktoberfest had a special area just for kids: "Pumpkin Happenings." For a mere $5, you could enter the area to enjoy picking and painting a pumpkin, creating a button, balloon animals, face painting, and bounce houses! Janna had a blast. Luke enjoyed the view from his stroller. He really does get excited watching Janna play. MawMaw was also visiting that weekend so we strolled down main street so she could enjoy some of the historical sites. Then we ended the evening with some ice cream.
