Luke Is One!

I can't believe our little man turns one today! This year has flown by unbelievably fast. When I had heard, "It goes by so much faster with the second" I didn't know what to expect. The words have proved true. I imagine that has a lot to do with the fact you have another child to give attention and care. Not as much time to sit around snapping pictures and just watching them grow. Don't get me wrong though, I certainly snapped my fair share of photos! Here's a little recap of Luke's first year:

*Born Monday, January 9, 2012 @ 10:02pm; 9 lbs. 13 oz. and 21 inches long.
*Started life with pneumonia, collapsed lungs, and a week stay at the hospital.
*Has accomplished rolling, extraordinarily fast army crawling, pulling up, cruising,
  and climbing.
*Enjoys playing with cars, balls, pots, pans lids, anything that flashes and makes noise.
*Really has shown an interest in books over the past couple months
  and enjoys flipping through the pages.
*Eats an unbelievable amount of food, at least compared to Janna.
  3 (or 4) 6-8 oz. bowls of food + 22-28 oz. of formula (now milk) a day!
*He really likes affection, wants hugs and to be held often (so different than Janna)!
*Getting used to being in larger groups of people,
  but likes it best when it's just the fam at home (also very different than Janna,
  it's so neat to see their differences).
*Desperately wants access to his sister's room and cries every time he is denied!
*Has stood a few times unassisted without holding on to anything.
*Not walking yet, but certainly not far from his first steps.

Sunday (Jan 6), we celebrated his birthday with our Life Group. We enjoyed cupcakes and presents, followed by Bible study. Couldn't have been a better night!
