*I took on a management position at Chick-fil-A and worked full time throughout the summer.
*Eddy finished his first year of teaching at SLCC.
Those two things made our schedules quite full, and unfortunately, family time was at a minimum. We knew it was important to change that and in August I dropped down to 2-3 days a week. I'm still in a leadership position, as well as helping out with some marketing/fundraising stuff at home. This is a much better set-up for us and we are enjoying a better schedule for our family this semester.
*Eddy and I celebrated 10 years of marriage.
*My sister got married (in San Diego) and Eddy and I stayed a week longer, traveling up to LA to meet up with friends and celebrate our 10 year anniversary.
Wedding. That word alone can convey how much time, planning, and energy is spent to make a special day! Although Melissa was across the country, I was not exempt from helping and lending an ear. We thoroughly enjoyed going out to CA to celebrate with Jeremy and Melissa.
Now fall is well underway, we've enjoyed cool days at the park, apple orchards, farms filled with pumpkins, and Halloween.
*In September, I took the kids to Herman Farm Orchard with my MOPS group. It was a bit warm that day, but we enjoyed the playground, a wagon ride, and picking apples.
OCTOBER
*We visited Daniel's Farm twice! Once with MOPS and once with Janna's preschool.
Certainly a fun place. They have a hay stack maze, small petting zoo, corn boxes (think sandbox, but filled with corn instead), outdoor playground, tractor-train ride, and pumpkins.
*We visited Jeremy and Melissa for the first time at their new home in Nashville. A great weekend catching up and hearing about newlywed life!
*Halloween! Unfortunately, the weather was full of rain. There was a brief clearing in the afternoon and we headed down to Main Street to go trick-or-treating. That lasted about 15 minutes before another downpour ensued. I huddled under an awning with the kids while Eddy got the car. We headed to Steak-n-Shake for dinner and then hit the mall for some indoor trick-or-treating. Janna saw one of her preschool friends there (McKenzie) and was thrilled. Then we headed to a church where one of Eddy's former students ministers and enjoyed an indoor trunk-or-treat. The rain did not stop us from having a great evening together as a family!!
