Who may you ask is the Donley family?? Well, they're a new link of "extended family" via our latest family addition, Charlyn (Jason's new wife).
Saturday, Janna and I followed Jason and Charlyn to the Donley Farm for a hayrack ride and wiener roast/potluck. We enjoyed visiting with new faces, Jason included, for this was his first time meeting this part of Charlyn's family. There was a tricycle, a box full of balls, and a few other kids to hold Janna's attention, while the adults mingled. Pretty soon a couple tractors pulled up with bales of hay. Time for a ride. Might I say this was not your average "ride the edge of the property in a square for 15 min." We were given an extensive look at the land this family owns and works....cow sightings, gravel roads, across fields and pastures, and through 2 creeks! No holding out on these family hayrides. The sun had set as we returned to the Donley home, and the fire was ready. Time to roast some 'dogs' and dig into the delicious dishes filling the food table. We had an enjoyable time!
