I've just been thinking how neat it still is to watch your child learn and grasp new concepts.
In the past few weeks, Janna's vocabulary has really begun to expand and take off. She tries repeating most things we say, and even if some of the words are completely unrecognizable to the "common ear" she is none-the-less learning new words. What's more exciting than just learning new words is that she's really beginning to understand what they are or what they mean. A few examples:
In Janna's room there are a great number of dots covering the walls in various colors and sizes. Janna began pointing at one, so I said, "That's a circle." She pointed to another. I repeated, "That's a circle." After pointing at a few more she said, "Cuhcle." Now she really recognizes the shape and points out other circles when she sees them.
A couple mornings ago Janna asked for her milk (a typical request in the morning). For some reason she held her cup to her face after I gave it to her and she said, "Cold!" :) It's one thing to say the words, it's another to understand them.
All this learning business is pretty cool. ;)
