Anyhow, all this to say that Janna has quickly learned about wind. We made a trip to Sam's for part of our groceries. As we got out of the truck we were nearly blown away! I said, "It's windy!" Janna found this rather amusing as she laughed and struggled to walk against the wind, all-the-while repeating, "ih winy, ih winy!" Very cute, until there was such a gust that she couldn't walk forward at all! She was a bit upset by this and I had to carry her in the store. Otherwise, we may have spent a good while trying to make it indoors!

There She Blows
Chicago is known for its reputation as the "Windy City," however I believe the entire state deserves credit as windy. Granted, some areas of the state are prone to more wind than others. For example, the flat mile-upon-mile stretches in central IL are bound to have more relentless winds than perhaps Quincy, where there are some rolling hills and bluffs to create barriers. Yesterday was not unusual in the sense that cool winds were abounding, it was their surprising strength. Today's report says: Wind-WSW @ 28 mph, gusting to 41 mph...The wind will continue to be a factor this afternoon but not as brutal as yesterday. This from a local meteorologist. I'm curious about yesterday's report!
