Writer's Block??

I noticed that 2 1/2 weeks have passed since my last post. Granted that's not an extreme amount of time, but I was thinking that I'd like to attempt fairly regular posts, perhaps weekly to start with. I think it'd be a good habit to write on a more regular basis. Considering this blog is attempting to encompass our whole family now, that may give me more options for writing. I believe I'll take the easy way out for today and talk about Janna a bit.
It seems hard to believe that over a month has gone by since she turned two. Her appetite and vocabulary have really taken off since then. We used to joke that Janna might be a vegetarian because we couldn't get her to eat much, if any, meat. She'll eat just about anything we put in front of her now. Lasagna with ground beef in the sauce, tacos with beef, pork chops, steak, chicken, lunch meat. She ate quite a large helping of pistachios last week (taking after her Granddaddy and Mommy with those...mmmm)! She loves any and all kinds of chips (what kid doesn't though, right?), and she's into sauces and dips (certainly taking after her Daddy there). She loves bread, by the slice, as a bagel, dinner roll, etc. Yogurt-covered raisins and fruit snacks are certainly favorites. Of course there's a list of veggies and fruits as well, but we've just really been surprised by how much she's been eating lately. Here's a quick funny story about the extreme side of Janna's eating habits:
We spent the evening of the Super Bowl at the Friye's house. Jason, Charlyn, Rachel, and Travis were there as well. Everyone brought food items to share. The smorgasbord included: cheeses, crackers, tortilla scoops, pea dip, veggies (carrots, broccoli, grape tomatoes), veggie dip, fruits (strawberries, pineapple, grapes, blueberries), fruit dip, pistachios, a roast, and a double layer cookie cake. "Mmmm" is an understatement. We were there for approximately 5 hours. Janna ate: cheese, crackers, bread, pistachios, strawberries (probably 10), pineapple, chips off everyone's plates, pea dip, and cookie cake. We all kept saying, "Where is it going??" It was rather amusing and she didn't even get a stomach ache!
Equally impressive is Janna's expansion in vocabulary. She's learning words from other people besides us now. Of course that can be a bad thing, but for now it's mostly good.
Sometimes she says things and I think, "What is she really trying to say, because she doesn't know that word?" For example: Jason and Charlyn took Janna for a Saturday evening to go play with some of Charlyn's other nieces and nephews. Along the way they pointed out windmills and water towers. The next week whenever we'd drive down Harrison she'd say "Wateh Towah." I'd think, "It sounds like she's saying water tower, but how would she know what that is?" I didn't even notice that we were driving by one. One day Eddy happened to be with us and noticed the water tower, we asked Jason and Charlyn about it later and they told us the story. She's starting to remember lyrics to songs and sing them as well (Some favorites: If You're Happy and You Know It; Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes; ABC's; Twinkle Twinkle Little Star; Happy Birthday; The Goldfish Song; and of course made-up ones as well). I know that, hopefully, as long as we're breathing we're learning. It's still neat to see her progress.

If I didn't know better, I'd think this whole blog was about Lailey! Including the endless eating at a Super Bowl party last week - complete with taking food from everyone there! It sounds like our girls are quite similar. Which Goldfish Song, by the way?
