Two weeks ago (Sun, May 1) we piled in the Cobalt and headed out West.
Eddy had his bi-annual AF Reserve Chaplain Conference in Denver, Colorado.
We'd been looking forward to a little time away (even though Eddy would still be working), and I was looking forward to adding a new state to my list!!! We detoured south to Arkansas first to visit Jeremy, Lauren, Sara Beth, and they're newest addition Lily. We enjoyed dinner at Olive Garden when we arrived (for my birthday), and just hanging out for the evening.
We headed out early Monday for a long drive. Janna did really well and we arrived in Denver at a decent hour. The next few days for Janna and I were spent with a fellow military wife and her kids (some friends we'd met at Whiteman AFB) going to City Park Tuesday and the Denver Zoo Wednesday. Janna loved playing with their boys. Although Seth and Janna are only 6 months apart and immediately declared a "That's mine!" battle for the week. They still enjoyed one another. :)
Tuesday evening we were fortunate enough to share a babysitter with the Dowells (because they had a friend nearby) and I was able to join Eddy for the 'formal' banquet they have for the conference. It was fun to dress up, enjoy a good meal (or an expensive one as Eddy might say) and spend an evening together...even if we did have to hear an hour's worth of awards. :)
Thursday afternoon we took a drive up into the mountains to enjoy some of the Colorado scenery before making the trek back to IL.
