On the Road Again

I suppose I'm overdue for an update, but I hadn't really had any new pictures to share, which I believe is favorite part of seeing a new blog entry. Anyway, this past week we ventured out on a road trip to Texas. Our friend Dave was graduating from his advanced training in the AF Reserve so we went down to see him graduate. I was rather excited about this trip because it occurred in the week leading up to my birthday (which is just fun), and I'd be getting a new state, OK, and officially TX (according to my sister, 6 visits to an airport in the state don't count...I suppose I can somewhat agree with this because now having seen Texas "on the ground" it's a bit different). Anyway, that's exciting for me because I have a goal to visit all 50 states.
Okay, so we left Tuesday at nap time and drove to AR. We stayed with some friends (The Harbins) and Janna thoroughly enjoyed playing with Sara Beth (4 yrs. old) and all her toys. We drove through OK on our way to TX the next day. After arriving in Wichita Falls we decided to visit the "falls." I read online that the falls for which the town received it's name washed away in a flood in the early 1800's. I'm not sure how falls wash away in a flood, but that's a side note. In 1987 the town made their own falls through the generous donations of a "Mr. Concrete." We thought it'd be a fun way to explore a little and stretch our legs after a long trip. Enjoy some pictures of our adventures, and also see if you can figure out any disappointments we had along our journey to the falls.

Playing w/ Sara Beth and her toys.

So fun!

Getting on the Cherokee Turnpike just inside OK.

Coming into Tulsa.

Tulsa

Janna is excited about Tulsa.

Finally in TX and heading to the Falls.

Big girl walking.

Crossing a bridge along the river.

Along the river.

Love weeping willows.

Thanking Mr. Concrete for for donating concrete to "rebuild" the falls.

I suppose the unfortunate thing about manmade falls is that you can turn them off.
