Janna and I began a tour of the southeast on Monday. We hopped on a plane at LAX...I mean STL...and headed to Birmingham (Cheaper to fly SWA into BMI instead of ATL). Janna did really well, until the final descent (no throwing up this time). She figured out how to take her seat belt off and she wasn't to thrilled about me clicking it back together. She was also tugging at her ears a bit so I suppose she was not in an ideal state of comfort. Anyhow, Mawmaw (Eddy's Mom if you were wondering) picked us up at the airport and we made the three hour drive back to Conyers, but not without stopping for some Chick-fil-a!
Tuesday we slept in (Janna too! Yay!). When Janna awoke she was greated with a multitude of new toys. Later we went to visit PawPaw at the nursing home. His unkempt hair and high-decibel speaking was rather intimidating for Janna, but when he offered her some of his drink complete with top and straw she began to warm up to him. Our morning visit was followed by lunch at Chick-fil-a (I have to get my fill people!) and home for naptime. We had plans to try out Janna's new pool complete with whale slide, rainbow shade area, and starfish stacking rings, but were kept inside by a late afternoon thunderstorm. Janna enjoyed playing with Mawmaw, Granddad, and Aunt Michelle the rest of the evening...or perhaps they enjoyed watching her play with her toys. :)
This morning Mawmaw took Janna, Michelle, and I to the Children's Museum (Imagine It!) in downtown ATL. Everything is kid-oriented. Slides, tunnels, balls, water, playdough sand (which is by the far the coolest thing I've ever seen...and will probably be getting some for Janna) painting, treehouse, tap shoes, mini grocery carts, and much much more! She definitely had a great time. However, it was a bit of a challenge to pry her hands from the grocery cart and get her to leave it behind (even though Mawmaw and Granddad had one at the house for her). A fun-filled morning equals a long afternoon nap from exhaustion.
We'll try for the pool again this afternoon.
