Granddaddy was more than willing to let Janna crawl up into his lap and receive a driving lesson.
Janna has found a new friend here in Wedowee. Her name is Abby and she lives with my parents. Janna is thrilled with her presence and would spend all day with her if she could. Abby is gentle and tolerates her, but probably looks forward to evening when she can have a break from Janna's "love."
Wednesday was a big day here in Bama. Gigi (Mom), Janna, and I drove to Birmingham to meet Granddaddy and Eddy for lunch at Chick-fil-a. Janna spent the rest of the day with Gigi tagging along to piano lessons and church where she thoroughly enjoyed playing with other kids.
Eddy and I drove up to Hartselle to close on our house! Finally, after 1.5 years from when we first put it on the market, it has SOLD! We signed papers, closed out accounts, and celebrated by visiting with some friends: the Mizes (our former neighbors), who baked us cookies, and the Mitchells, who we met for dinner at Crickets (Eddy's favorite wing place). Wednesday was a long, emotionally draining day, but we are thankful that we've finally sold our house.
Here are some things that filled the rest of our week:
Eddy took Janna to my parent's church Thurs. and Fri. so she could play (and give me a break) while he worked long-distance [Eddy's vacation starts this afternoon - the house closing threw off our vacation schedule and the church was gracious enough to allow him to work away for a few days].
I have sun-bathed, read, swam, and done some painting (touch-up work) for my parents.
Janna has played outside, blown bubbles, takin' many boat rides, smothered Abby with "love," climbed up and down stairs, watered plants, helped clean, watched Mommy water-ski, among many other fun things.
We've been enjoying a relaxing time here at the lake.
This week starts vacation with Eddy. Stay tuned for the conclusion of our tour!
